Caring For Missouri Children Since 1963

Since 1963, children and adolescents with the most serious social and emotionally challenging conditions have found refuge in Butterfield Youth Services. BYS is accredited by Council on Accreditation (COA), and affiliated with recognized state and national childcare standards organizations.

BYS Programs offer various choices and opportunities for children and families with different needs. Each program reaches a group of troubled children, who are in need of special services, love, and an accepting community to live and grow in. BYS provides specialized treatment and educational support Services across all of the programs.

BYS supporters can Donate Online in full confidence their transactions are secure. We invite you to join with us in our mission to better the lives of the children and youth we serve.

WE NOW HAVE JOB OPENINGS for caring compassionate people wanting to work with children. Please check our Job Opportunities and see if there is something that would suit your schedule.

If your Church or Organization would like to "Adopt a Ranch" for a Christmas project or other occasion, please contact Garry Cobb, Development Director at garrycobb@bys-kids.org or Ellie Butterfield, Donor Correspondent at elliebutterfield@bys-kids.org for more information.  Check out our Wish List for other needed items.

   BYS Summer Work Program

The BYS summer work program is underway.  Selected participants have class time where they are taught how to properly fill out applications, interview, etc.  For the work portion of the program they have washed all the windows in the main office, washed and cleaned all the agency cars and as the photo shows...painted new stripes in the parking lot.  After completion of the program the kids will be rewarded with a stipend...the program is funded by a private donation.  Learning to complete tasks and work cooperatively with others may be some of the most valuable lessons we can teach our children.

Thanks Hasbro!

Hasbro Corporation recently donated 40 games to Butterfield Youth Services through their "Hasbro Gift of Play" program.  The games valued at $1000.00 will be distributed in both the School and the Residential facilities.  The games will be used for structured play which serves an important function in development of at-risk youth.  Thanks Hasbro!
