Since 1963, children and adolescents with the most serious social and emotionally challenging conditions have found refuge in Butterfield Youth Services. BYS is accredited by Council on Accreditation (COA), and affiliated with recognized state and national childcare standards organizations.

Child Enrichment Fund...Christmas 12 months a year...
As with most organizations that provide Human Services, BYS is showered with support from our friends at Christmas. It is obviously the season for giving, for considering the welfare of those less fortunate. We always appreciate donations that can be used for our General Fund...as I have mentioned before, the boring stuff. For those who would like to direct their donation be used for the children in a more direct form, we recommend the Child Enrichment Fund. The initial dollars for this fund came from a longtime donor who simply desired the money to be as follows: "Any activity that would bring instant gratifications". Below is a list of some of the activities and events the fund is used for:
Graduation
Caps & Gowns
Senior Pictures
Class Rings
Senior Trips
Yearbooks
Symphonies
Ballet
Plays
Amusement Parks
Movies
Dances
Christmas Gifts
Prom-Dresses and Tuxedos
Flowers
Dinner out
Football Games
Educational Trips
Birthday Gifts
We use this fund to give our kids some of the fun stuff in life and it allows us the flexibility to do that year round.
Thank you for making an investment in a child's future.
Happy Holidays to You and Yours,
Garry Cobb

Dedication of Art Studio
The "Jerry Carton Art Studio was dedicated on September 12th, 2009. Jerry's family was joined by BYS board members, staff, friends and children as a self portrait and plaque were unveiled. Jerry had worked as "artist in residence" for 35 years before his passing this spring and had introduced self discovery through art to hundreds of children over the years. We want to thank Jerry's wife Jeanne and his daughters Tara and Carrie for "loaning" us Jerry for so many years...both his talent and the twinkle in his eye will be missed.
