The Web team at Butterfield Youth Services

In 2002, our team determined that we could achieve even more for children through the Internet and made the commitment to develop a new, improved Web site and keep it updated. John Carton arranged for a new site to be developed, using the latest technology, and asked Becci Baker to be the leader in shaping strategies and developing content for the site.

There are many ways to develop a site at a reasonable cost, and in this instance charity began at home. John asked his son, Jans Carton, to create a new site for BYS. Jans, a partner in the WebSanity technology firm, developed the BYS site plan, designed the site, and provided a way whereby our own staff could maintain the site on a continuing basis.

Bryan Consulting Inc.

The answer was provided by Bryan Consulting, a firm of senior professionals in technology and communication. With their Content Management System, it's no longer necessary to construct pages one at a time or have them updated by specialists. The CMS pulls information from a database and displays it in a template to create each "page" upon demand. And the site can be updated by the Butterfield staff in plain English, requiring no special tools or technical skills.

Bryan worked with Jans on site concepts and melded the design with the CMS hosted on their servers. The result is a dynamic site that our staff can update at any time. If you have comments or questions about the site, please contact Becci Baker: beccibaker@bys-kids.org
