Jacki Carton

Jacki Carton, MS, RN is BYS' Director of Health Care Services.

At BYS, 'health care services' addresses the wide range well-child care, psychiatric services, as well as serious individually presenting medical conditions, such as diabetes or asthma. In a population of 80-85 children in service, such serious medical management conditions may be present at any time. Health education for personnel, including prevention of communicable disease, accident prevention education, first aide and CPR training, are also integral concerns of the health care services at BYS.

Jacki is responsible for the overall operation of BYS health care services, including supervision of three licensed nurses and a nursing assistant. She also coordinates and facilitates the work of two child psychiatrists, who provide weekly consultation and children's psychiatric treatment services under contract with BYS.

Jacki is a 1966 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Nursing, with a Bachelors of Science degree in nursing. In 1970 she earned a Masters of Science degree in Child Psychiatric Nursing from Boston University. Jacki provided medical support services to BYS on a part time basis from 1975 to 1988, and on a full time basis since 1988.
