The East Ranch for Boys
Established in 1963, the first Butterfield Boys Ranch; this facility was originally built as the Saline County Country Club in the 1920's. The house was initially renovated by Tom Butterfield, the first three young boys in his care, and the generously donated labor of the local community. East Ranch now houses ten boys.
Youth served at East Ranch are classified as Severe Need (Level III) by the Missouri Division of Family Services, which is the state placing agency for most of the youth who are referred to Butterfield's care. East Ranch typically accommodates an older adolescent group ranging in age from 15 to 18 years of age.
