The New Homestead for Boys
Established in 1987, this ranch was the first home BYS entirely designed and constructed to serve the special needs of the Butterfield children. A large family room, and indoor recreation area, special counseling areas, and a solar powered hot water system are some of the special features of the house. The home is surrounded by a large yard with two ponds that are stocked for fishing by the Missouri Department of Conservation. Wild deer and turkeys are often seen on the expansive farm property that is shared by New Homestead and East Ranch.
New Homestead currently serves ten boys classified as Intensive Need (Level IV).
