Children Attending BYS School

The BYS School serves children at all grade levels from elementary through high school, to approximately 80 students daily. Accordingly, the Educational Services at BYS are designed address each grade level and age groupings represented. The children served are residents of BYS treatment group facilities, of BYS therapeutic foster care homes, and of BYS day treatment program. A primary goal for each student is to eventually return successfully to the public schools. To that end, the administrative and curricular activities of BYS School are closely coordinated with those of Marshall public Schools, so that eligible students may successfully begin attending classes in the public schools on a graduated basis at their individual paces. At any time, many of the students are in attendance at BYS School on a partial-day basis and in public school the remainder of the school day.
