BYS Day Treatment Program
At BYS, 'Day Treatment' offers a program structure with supporting services to allow certain children to remain living in their family homes, while they benefit from BYS services during the day. This program is designed to serve as
opportunity for some children to move from BYS residential treatment back into their family home, while continuing to receive daily supporting services at BYS
a means to serve children over a 30 - 60 mile outreach area, who are experiencing severe disruption at home or in school, and who otherwise are at risk for immediate residential placement. Day treatment is a constructive way to prevent those children's complete removal from home, and to effectively benefit from BYS' support services at an earlier stage than would otherwise be possible.
The Missouri Division of Family Services classifies BYS Day Treatment as a 'Level II Residential Treatment Service'. That contract classification allows those children to progress from 'higher levels' of BYS residential treatment back into their family homes, while continuing all BYS agency support services for those children in the process.
Area School Districts also refer children to BYS Day Treatment for the Alternative School benefit, with supporting personal and social adjustment services, and transportation provided as an integral part of BYS Day Treatment.
