Saleamua Challenges BYS Kids in Inspirational Presentation

On May 5th (2004) Dan Salaumua, former defensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, visited the BYS School. It's not everyday that the BYS kids get to meet a genuine NFL football champion, and this day was very special indeed!

In advance to the visit, the event was proclaimed Red Day in honor of the Chiefs prominant team color, and the kids decorated the school accordingly. An assembly was held in the cafeteria, and Dan shared his life story in a manner that was inspiring and challanging for the children. He spoke poigniently about overcoming personal hardships. Puntuated with lots of humor, Dan proclaimed the key to personal success  through hard work and dedication. Dan's comments affirmed the worth and capability of every person present, with an attention-holding rapport that was palpable in the room. When he paused, between his booming voiced comments, you could have heard a pin drop. Then Dan autographed personal photos, tee shirts, and even a few footballs for the kids. The day was exciting and rewarding for everyonel. Thank you Dan Salumua, for this great afternoon of sharing with the BYS kids.
